Exostrategies has rebranded ExoScheduler to SONIC for Satellite Operations Network Infrastructure and Costing toolkit. This new release, version 1.05 provides for integrated analysis of earth-orbiting spacecraft across a network of ground antennas and satellite operations centers. SONIC incorporates a fully integrated set of cost estimating relationships to provide a wide variety of cost metrics detailing the allocation of DDT&E, operations, sustainment, and WAN costs to missions, constellations, sites, and operations centers.

Shawn Hosp named Vice President of Exostrategies. Shawn Hosp has taken on the duties of Vice President and Director, Software Development. Mr. Hosp has been responsible for the development of Exostrategies ExoScheduler tool for satellite telemetry, tracking, and commanding network analysis as well as overall management of software development activities. In his new role, Mr. Hosp will take on the responsibility of all corporate management of software R&D projects and software technical development and project execution.

Exostrategies provides its first license of ExoScheduler, a tool for satellite telemetry, tracking, and commanding network analysis to the NOAA Environmental Satellite and Data Information Service’s Satellite Operations Facility. ExoScheduler is a PC environment that allows users to define missions, ground network antennas, and satellite operations centers and then simulate operations through a series of resource allocation and analysis algorithms.

Dr. Daniel Heimerdinger reappointed to his 15th year as a Special Government Employee to the NASA International Space Station (ISS) Advisory Committee through the duration of its current charter, September 30, 2010.

Dr. Daniel Heimerdinger reappointed to the NASA International Space Station Advisory Committee. This committee is the counterpart to the Russian Federal Space Agency’s Advisory Expert Council and is chartered to assess International Space Station issues and areas of interest identified by the NASA Associate Administrator for Space Operations.

Exostrategies will present its International Space Station Virtual Environment at the 24th National Space Symposium at the Broadmoor Convention Center in Colorado Springs, CO. Exostrategies will be demonstrating a fully immersive 3D environment of the International Space Station in the Space Foundation’s educational outreach booth in the Exhibit Hall. Exostrategies has developed a prototype of the current International Space Station that allows students to don virtual reality goggles and a Wii controller to “fly” through the interior and around the exterior of the Space Station.

Dr. Heimerdinger receives NASA’s Distinguished Public Service medal, its highest award to a civilian, for his contributions to the Shuttle/Station Configuration Options Team (S/SCOT). The award was for his risk analysis for the space shuttle’s continued operations to provide operable configuration options for the International Space Station.

Nikolai Anfimov, the Chairman of the Roskosmos Advisory Expert Council awarded Dr. Heimerdinger with a Certificate of International Cooperation for his work as a member of a joint US/Russia commission for the joint space operations. Dr. Heimerdinger was initially appointed in 1995 as a member of NASA Advisory Council’s Task Force for Shuttle/Mir Operations.  This Task Force became the Joint US/Russia International Space Station Operational Readiness and Safety Task Force to address NASA and Russian Federal Space Agency level issues associated with the assembly of the International Space Station.

Dr. Heimerdinger receives NASA’s Exceptional Public Service medal, its second highest award to a civilian, for his contributions as a member of the Task Force/Advisory Expert Council Joint Commission in resolving safety and operational issues and enhancing the working relationship between NASA and the Russian Federal Space Agency.
