General description:
The Enterprise Architect position represents a unique opportunity to join an expanding effort to support the United States European Command (USEUCOM). The Enterprise Architect works as a member of a strong technical team to develop and manage the enterprise architecture (EA) to improve USEUCOM capabilities in support of our warfighters and coalition partners.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Work with functional subject matter experts to collect and describe operational and system processes; nodes; activities; and associated inputs, controls, outputs, and mechanisms to fully understand the architecture’s business process workflows and identify the enablers that support each
  • Work with USEUCOM personnel to provide input on recommended revisions or updates to architectures, functional and non-functional requirements development for operational capabilities, and non-materiel solution implementation efforts
  • Identify, develop, document, and recommend enterprise-level risks having potential impact on the USEUCOM enterprise and on the implementation and achievement of capabilities
  • Research, develop, document, and analyze USEUCOM architecture views and data to identify capability gaps, overlaps, and shortfall
  • Research, develop, and document various USEUCOM-level architectures for integration into an enterprise architecture
  • Prepare, staff, and publish formal USEUCOM architecture views and data; when applicable, views and data should be compliant with the DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF)
  • Recommend and participate in the analysis, evaluation, and development of USEUCOM strategic and operating plans to support the CCMD’s EA objectives
  • Conduct strategic architecture branch staff actions (tasks, papers, briefings, etc.)
  • Determine and recommend architectural, information technology, or process solutions; research and develop other architecture-related documents and plans
  • Participate in USEUCOM enterprise architecture conferences; generate minutes and capture key action items

Qualifications:

  • Three to five years of related experience
  • Background in DoD intelligence and capabilities, and familiarity with USEUCOM
  • A strong and detailed understanding of USEUCOM assets, tools, and practices
  • Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks, best practices, and goals (DoDAF 2.0, Zachman Framework, FEAC Institute, TOGAF, UPDM, or UAF)
  • Solid work ethic including ability to work and represent Exostrategies with limited local supervision, and strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Experience with modeling standards and languages appropriate to software software-intensive systems, such as BPMN, BPML, UML, SysML, and derivatives
  • Experience with enterprise architecture diagramming tools

Education requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in engineering, information technology, science, business or other related area of study
  • Master’s degree is desired

Security clearance requirement:

  • Applicants must have an active US Government Top Secret security clearance and have been granted access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) within the last two years, based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)

Available work location:

  • Stuttgart, Germany (USEUCOM)
  • Some domestic travel required
