Enterprise Architect I


Exostrategies is a small, agile professional services company that principally serves the federal government and provides affordable enterprise transformation services in anticipation of evolving threats to our nation’s critical infrastructure and operations.

General description:
Exostrategies is seeking an Enterprise Architect to join our team in the Colorado Springs, CO, area to document current and future states of the enterprise architecture (EA).

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Work with local and globally distributed subject matter experts to collect and describe operational and system processes; nodes; activities; and associated inputs, controls, outputs, and mechanisms to fully understand business process workflows and identify enablers
  • Develop, document, and sustain the EA, including required Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) products, program roadmap, and fit-for-purpose views as required to support innovative architectural analysis and business management
  • Manage data collection, analysis, quality, and configuration management
  • Ensure that DoDAF quality requirements are met, and identify and implement process improvements to optimize performance and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Use architectural data to support decision makers, strategic roadmaps, programs and projects, and others to maximize intelligence capabilities, reduce risk, and manage transitional activities
  • Recommend and participate in the analysis, evaluation, and development of strategic and operating plans to support EA objectives
  • Learn and use Exostrategies’ Architex™ Decision Support Suite


  • Two years of related experience
  • Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks, best practices, and goals (DoDAF 2.0, Zachman Framework, FEAC Institute, TOGAF, UPDM, or UAF)
  • Experience with modeling standards and languages appropriate to software-intensive systems, such as BPMN, BPML, UML, SysML, and derivatives
  • Experience with enterprise architecture diagramming tools, such as Architex, Mega HOPEX, and Sparx Enterprise Architect
  • Strong computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office products, and the ability to learn and use new software programs
  • Solid work ethic including ability to work and represent Exostrategies with limited local supervision, and strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

Preferred qualifications:

  • Familiarity with creation and maintenance of project portfolios for enterprise evolution
  • Knowledge of satellite operations’ networks from launch to on-orbit support
  • Experience with modeling and simulation software (e.g., STK, Riverbed OPNet)

Education requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in engineering, information technology, science, business, or other related area of study

Security clearance requirement:

  • Active U.S. government Top Secret security clearance (SCI eligible)

Available work location:

  • Colorado Springs, CO; some domestic travel may be required
