Exostrategies developed a 3D prototype of the International Space Station's interior and exterior using state-of-the-art commercial gaming software.   The ISS Virtual Simulator operates in a collaborative, PC environment and takes advantage of virtual reality headsets and Nintendo Wii controller to immerse the user into a scale representation of the ISS.  Users can:

  • Fly around the exterior of the ISS
  • Move weightlessly through its interior
  • Experience the physical challenges of operating in a weightless environment

This model was demonstrated at the 2008 Space Symposium in conjunction with the National Space Foundation's educational outreach program.  Over 200 students and teachers experienced the virtual ISS.  Our goals include the continued involvement of students and educators in the development of educational products in the advancement of K-12 science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curricula.
